Having grown up on the West Coast, Christie and I have been incredibly fortunate to experience the best outdoor adventures our stunning coast has to offer. Raised in Tofino, the ocean is home and where we are most relaxed. Fishing, hiking, exploring or simply taking in the breathtaking sunsets on an evening cruise is what makes island life so special to us.
Don Merlo - Lead Guide
A passion for service, a steward of the environment, and simply an amazing person, Don brings the charter experience to an entire new level. Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Don grew up fishing Walleye, Musky, Perch, and Bass on the Detroit River and Lake Erie. His passion for fishing was evident from a young age as he spent any spare time he had in his little 14-foot aluminum boat. Don has always had a passion for service and being on water so as soon as he was done high school he set out to basic training with the Royal Canadian Navy. After 14 years of service and 5 tours of duty Don retired from the Navy to start his family. He is the proud father of two young boys and has an incredible wife that, as a family, takes full advantage of all that the west coast has to offer. Don has been fishing the waters around lower Vancouver Island for almost 15 years, he is a student of the industry and an incredibly passionate person who loves to share his technique, educate about the environment, and ensure our clients have an amazing experience.
